IJ Start Canon TR4500 - IJ Start Cannon

IJ Start Canon TR4500– The Canon PIXMA TR4500 is a great printer. Easy connectivity and use through the app. I was a little surprised, though pleased when I had two pages to print and printed front and back on one page. Not surprised by its capabilities, but it’s the default and I don’t have to look for those special settings. Anyway, in short, perfect for the home office. I have had the previous model for years. The exact same printer. Prices are much higher now, but still worth it.

Canon PIXMA TR4500 Review

The Canon TR4500 is a compact all-in-one inkjet printer with a flatbed scanner and automatic document feeder. In addition to scanning and printing tasks, it can also send faxes and perform automatic duplex printing. It has great photo printing quality because the images come out in detail with only a few streaks in the grayscale, and the colors look pretty accurate.

Canon PIXMA TR4551 Driver

Although the plastic body feels solid, the design makes accessing paper jams difficult, as you have to turn them over or remove the back panel when the printer is on to clear them. Like other compact inkjet printers, this printer has low page yields for color and black only documents and slow printing speeds. Although ink cartridges are relatively inexpensive, you have to replace them frequently, which results in a high cost per print.

TR4500 performs well for family use. It has a high-resolution flatbed scanner to easily digitize old photos and documents. Photo printing quality is excellent, as images come out with detail with minimal banding, and colors look accurate. Page yields for black and color documents are quite low, which results in high printing costs because you have to change cartridges frequently.

Canon PIXMA TR4500 Performance

If you’re looking to produce some classic 4″ x 6″ prints from a recent family vacation, then the rendered colors of the Canon PIXMA TR4500 will likely be for you. Yes, it’s true that this machine has some faded skin tones at times, and tends to oversaturate the blue. There are also some micro banding issues that have become increasingly apparent as print formats have improved. However, that’s the kind of thing that tends to jump out when someone is making a comparative analysis, and not when you’re walking down memory lane.

The important thing to remember with this machine is that it is easy to use and gets the job done pretty well. The resolution is pretty decent and stays consistent up to the 8″ x 10″ format. After looking at many of the images during this review — including those from a chain store developer — we can say with certainty that the color prints that come out of this machine will not satisfy the average consumer.

Canon PIXMA TR4500 Black and white

The black and white images produced on the TR4500 are slightly better quality than color images, but not by much. We still have some micro banding that is clearer in grayscale and becomes clearer as the print size increases. However, there are slight scratches in the dark areas of the image which we observed with some high-end printers. In addition, the dynamic range (i.e. the breadth of tones from white to black) is surprisingly wide, giving the image definition.

Make no mistake, this machine will never satisfy a professional photographer. That’s why we cover more than hundreds of black and white in this review focusing on resolution and overall impression. We can say unequivocally that the black and white TR4620 is better than average.

Print Ability

For a medium-sized printer, the Canon TR4500 has a fairly good range of capabilities. This will produce 4″ x 6″, 5″ x 7″, and 8″ x 10″ prints on a variety of papers from super glossy to matte. It will do greeting cards, t-shirt transfers, and envelopes too.

On the downside, Canon has a long print time when compared to the other printers reviewed. At 128 seconds per 4″ x 6″, this output is more than double the average for the class. Even worse, the paper tray can only hold 20 sheets of 4″ x 6″ photo paper. As such, you may have to take care of the printer when handling larger prints.

Canon PIXMA TR4500 Scanner

The Canon PIXMA TR4500 has great scanning features. Apart from the high-resolution scanner, it also has an automatic document feeder to scan long and multi-page documents easily. However, it can’t perform automatic duplex scanning, so you’ll have to turn the page manually.

Operating costs

Operating costs are an evaluation of the long-term costs of running the printer. To make this image easy to understand, we’ve refined it at a cost to print a single 4″ x 6″ color image. Thankfully, the Canon is in the average range for the class at $0.58.

We arrived at 58 cents by calculating the amount of ink needed to cover one square inch of paper and multiplying by 24 (the number of square inches in a 4″ x 6″ sheet of photo paper). We then take that number and add it to the price of a piece of photo paper. We find this estimate conservative but supported by similar studies from production photo laboratories.

IJ.Start.Canon TR4500 Setup

As you might guess from the name, the setup metric evaluates the difficulty (or ease) of switching from a box printer to a photo-generating printer. The Canon uses an application, as opposed to a driver, to process photos going from your device to the printer. Connection to the machine is done via WiFi. The whole process is simplified and easy to run. The first print that came out of the machine was pretty good too.

We think this mid-size photo printer has a high value. The overall performance of this machine is well above average, but the price is far below average for its class. We can’t think of a better cost-to-performance ratio than what the Canon PIXMA TR4500 has to offer.

Conclusion

There are several advantages and disadvantages that must be considered before choosing the Canon PIXMA TR4500. The cost of the machine is at the top of the pro column. On the other hand, the counter column is basically a matter of perspective. This machine does not produce high-quality images. However, this machine produces decent photos on par with what you’d expect from a chain photo lab. It also includes a decent range of papers and formats that will satisfy the average person. With that in mind, we think that this machine is very good and will be more than adequate to snap pictures of friends and family off your phone and into multiple frames.

How to Fax from Canon TR4500

Turn on the Canon Pixma TR4500 Printer.
Press the FAX button . The Fax standby screen is displayed.
- Load your document on the glass or document feeder.
- When you send a two-sided document, load the document on the glass. Two-sided documents cannot be scanned and sent from the automatic document feeder.

Use the numeric keypad to dial the recipient’s fax/telephone number.
The printer scans the document.
- Warning Do not open the document cover or unplug the power cord until the scan is complete.
If you load a document in the automatic feeder, the printer will scan the document and send a fax.
- To cancel the fax transmission, tap Stop.
- To cancel a fax transmission in progress, tap Stop, and afterward adhere to the on-screen guidelines.
- Assuming that the archive stays in the feeder later you stop the fax in progress, Document in ADF [OK] Eject the report is shown on the screen.
- Tap OK to eject the document.
If you load a document on the glass, the first document will be scanned and you will be asked if you want to scan additional documents.
- To send two or more pages, load the next page and select Color or Black. After you have scanned all the pages, tap OK.
- To cancel the cast, tap S to p.

How to Reset Canon TR4500 Printer

Press and hold both buttons together for another two seconds.

Finally, the CANON PIXMA TR4500 reboots itself and after about a minute it will be ready to work.
Good work! All settings including the Ink Cartridge Counter on the CANON PIXMA TR4500 have been reset.

IJ Start Canon TR4500 Setup Instructions for Windows

Download/Installation procedure

Download the file.
Then Double Click, the installation will start automatically.

Canon Pixma TR4500 Scanner Driver:

If the OS is upgraded with the fixed scanner driver installed, scanning by pressing the SCAN button on the printer cannot be done after the upgrade. In that case, reinstall the scanner driver.
When the installation of the MP driver is stopped by the following actions with the connection screen wait, install again. The installation does not finish even if plugged in a USB cable again or turned on to Power Supply again.
The scan from the Scan printer button does not work when the connection is changed from a network connection to a USB port setup connection. Install the MP driver again, and change the connection method.
